Clay and other naturally existing non-metallic raw materials are used to create ceramic in its most basic form. They are not metallic. Hence they are not susceptible to corrosion, which is something that most other materials cannot survive when exposed to specific situations. They can also withstand temperatures of 1,800 °F to 3,000 °F due to their heat resistance. They are burned to make them hard and heat-resistant after being shaped into the desired shape using a variety of processes (mould casting, hand construction, etc.). It is completed in a kiln.
